18 MONTHS!

 This little lady turned 18 months! We still joke (but are serious) that we are still recovering from having Zac and that Jane has been a piece of cake. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She is often referred to as our "angel child" and is very easy going. We find her doing things on her own a lot and can be easily pleased. We all cannot get enough of her (including her big brother)!

She started Nursery this past Sunday. She has done well for our little drop offs, but this week she was SUPER shy. I brought her in and put her by the dolls and she just sat there with her head down. They said she did not look up much and would not really come to anyone. She didn't have tears, but was close. Next week might be a little harder drop off for us all.

Jane at 18 months:
-She LOVES, Loves, loves to read. She reads all. the. time. The other day as we were going out the door to ride bikes she found a book and was mad (like to tears mad) that I was not letting her just sit in the stroller and read. If you are sitting down, she has found a book to read to you. This activity has been an ice breaker for many people. It is so funny to look back while we are driving at night and see her looking through books in the dark. She seriously loves it. 
-The moon. She LOVES it. She will find it in the day time too. When we are driving she will yell "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" until I say "yes Jane?" Then she will get out her little pointer finger and point to the moon and quietly say, "the moon." And then it's yelling "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy" and same thing over with "Zacy, Zacy, Zacy." We all have to see it and enjoy it with her.
-She calls her ponytails "pretties." And throughout the day will touch it and say, "cute."
-She is shy. She does not like it when others talk to her or are looking at her. The other day she was playing with a friend her age and her friend was trying to give her something and Jane just stood there with her hands over her eyes holding in the tears. I was watching from a distance for a minute and then the tears just came. She does pretty good if she is in my arms.
-She can understand most everything. She has a pretty good vocabulary for communicating. It is fun to hear her and Zachary talk. Most of the time Zac: "Jane we are going to ride bikes, OK?" Jane: OK. or "We want to go outside, right?" Jane: "Right?" And then if she doesn't do what he says he says, "Jane you said OK!"
Or she will come up to whatever he is doing and excitingly say, "oh wow!"
-She knows how to yell when she does not like something. (Usually it is something that her brother is doing...surprise, surprise.)
-She loves her baby dolls. She will carry them around and take them in and out of things. She also likes to point to parts of their body. The other day I peaked around the corner and she was showing her toes to the doll and pointing out the dolls toes. Pretty cute.
-She LOVES puzzles! Second to reading, but she could do them all day. She can do all ones with the pictures behind on her own, but her favorite ones are the numbers and ABCs. She knows where some of the pieces go, but needs help for most of them.
-Loves cereal. She is super cute drinking the extra milk and saying "more."
-Supper good sleeper. We love her for that. She also only just gets her binky in bed. I love that stage because she will just play in bed a little longer just to have her binky a little longer.
-Every morning we open up her blinds and she says, "so bright" and scrunches her eyes. 
-She likes to help set the table. And always gets her bib out of the drawer for us.
-My phone is really her phone. If she even sees it, it is hers. She loves the pictures and videos. She is really good at navigating the thing.
-Size 2T clothes.
-She is good at eating, but does not like bread that much.
-She has taken over the trike. She likes it when we get to take the bikes out on our late afternoon walks. She is pretty slow moving because she spends so much time looking around.
-She loves to put her hand in her pants or diaper. Drives us crazy.
-Loves to sing: Happy Birthday (Happy To You), 5 Little Ducks (Ducks), Wheels on the Bus (Round and Round), Old McDonald (EIEIO), I Am A Child of God, or Row, Row, Row Your Boat (Row, Row, Row).
-Always has to walk down our stairs holding onto the sides.
-Knows how to push her brothers buttons. When is he waiting for a book she has, she will purposely not go to the last page and start it over. Drives him crazy. I think it is pretty funny.
-Loves hearing airplanes and trucks. Will stop what she is doing and listen.
-Likes only the introduction of shows. Once the song is over she is usually in the toy room or reading books.
-Loves animals from a distance.
-Cutest little dance moves.
-Has such a fun laugh and little scream.
-Most every time I put a jacket on her she wants a hat on too.
-Can work the ipad and play the games on it.
-Wants to always ride Z's balance bike and razor scooter.
 -Loves to tickle and be tickled.

Lateafternoon walk. The kids like to go by our neighbor around the corner who decorates

for every holiday. Jane just sits there and says "oh wow" to everything. 

And Z showing off how close he can get to the edge without falling off.

Lots of fire fighter playing this day. Jane would not take the jacket off

to go to the store. I was a little surprised Z was ok with her still in it.

She will always go for Z's rainboots. 

She loves to put them herself and walk around.

Typical Jane. Needing a stack of books in the morning.

Getting ready for bed one night. Little baby needed her teeth cleaned too.

Like I said, loves cereal. Strawberry Mini Wheats are a big hit.

Cooler morning. Daddy wrapped Jane up nice and good.

Jane wanted her picture on this chair. Zac jumped in too.

She thinks her bumper is a seat.

She will sit there until I come and get her.

We were all dying watching Jane eat her ice cream at

Grandma and Grandpa's house. She was a mess. But sure enjoyed every last bite.

She loves to sit in the toy bins. It is fun to watch her just play.

She tried to ride the razor scooter by herself.

Ended up with a scabbed nose.

Her little point is so cute.

She will take off her right shoe all the time and walk around with only one on.

Uncle John visits!

Uncle John came for a quick visit the weekend of Feb 8.

It was fun to have him stay with us. Jane was not sure what

to think about him when we picked him up from the airport, but Zac was BEYOND

excited for him to be visiting. That night we went to downtown Livermore 

for some ice cream. It was a little cool out, so I love that Jane kept her gloves on to eat. :)

Jane did warm up to him with some book reading (are we surprised?) and Zac got to show him 

all his cool toys. And lucky us John was the "chosen" to read the bedtime story.

 

 The next day we went into San Fransisco. We went to some new cool spots

that we had never been to. We stopped at the "Wave Organ" to listen through the pipes

that made sounds with the movement of the bay. 

The view there was pretty amazing. It was a fun little stop.

We went to the other side of the Golden Gate and took a walk on the beach there.

The kids had fun running around.

 

 

We went to Golden Gate Park for a picnic lunch and

played at one of the parks there. We always stop at a new place in the park when we go there.

Jane was loving the swings. She also content just pushing the swings on her own.

 

We rushed home so Kenzie and John could get ready for the dance they 

were going to that night. They both looked great. Kenzie was super pretty (as always).

They had a great time.

 

The next day we said goodbye to John. Zac did not like the fact that he was already

going home. We told him that he needs to come back soon!
