End of May

Memorial day weekend was fun. We started it off with a trip out on the boat. Lee and I were surprised at how much sun we got (considering it was a little windy and cool). We came back with some nice "pink" cheeks, arms, and legs. But well worth it!

We were able to go to the San Ramon "Kite and wind festival" this year. We have not been in town for this event in the past, so it was fun to see what they had. We had fun walking around the booths, watching the kite shows, and enjoying the nice weather.

NOPE, not a new car!
I took the truck in for an oil change and came home with this. I guess there was more work on it then we thought. (Good thing we had an extended warranty!) I felt like I belonged in the carpool lane with all the other million people that own these things.
Nothing like getting work on both cars on the same week! You can never leave without paying them WAY more then you wanted.

Lee's cousin got married this weekend. We decided to venture down to Fresno for the sealing. It was beautiful weather and we had a great time. Cute Kenzie got to take care of all of the little ones. As you can see our little one is growing fast. Only two months left!

I do have to tell you that I was DYING when I came home and took out my earrings. I had worn two different earrings all day!! I had introduced to so many new people all day--Lets just say I'm a little embarrassed. Looking back when I was getting ready I remember picking up a brown earring that had been dropped on the floor and I guess I put it in. (We had to get up a little earlier then normal for a Saturday, and I think I was not all with it.)

I think that the best part was when I asked Lee if he noticed what earrings I had worn and he said the brown ones...I was really supposed to be wearing two white ones (I'm sure glad that the non matching ones stood out!). I was just dying that no one said anything, but then again, I don't know if I would have said anything to one of his cousins that I had just met. I told Lee he needs to better watching out for me. So he was sure to check my earrings out today (thanks). I just wish I knew how many people noticed and didn't say anything...

My Little Kate is 20!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!

There is no easy way to wish your little Sister Happy Birthday when she is 12,226 km away from home at the top of Mt. Sinai. She is pretty consistent in out-doing me over her last 20 years.

1. I went to Italy as a Missionary, she went to Jerusalem Study Abroad (and got a vacation to italy)!

2. My best GPA was 3.76, She thought a 4.2 could have been higher!

3. She had stitches twice by 1st grade, I had to wait until 4th grade to decide I wouldn’t do that again!

4. She went a month on a broken ankle, I only took 3 seconds to figure the pain in my broken foot was unbearable.

5. I still can’t land a flip on my wakeboard, while she has been teaching me lessons (and challenging me like crazy) for years!

6. She is fluent in French & probably Arabic, while I barely got a bit of “italiano”!

7. She got her 1st cell phone about 5 years before I got one! Her ability to text 150 characters in 12.1 seconds proves that!

8. No body ever asked for my phone number (I couldn’t hardly pay anyone to take mine!) and she needs a secretary to handle the guys chasing after her! (doesn’t help she cant ever think of a fake number fast enough!)

9. I thought a truck was pretty “cool”, her Turbo V-dub kicks my trash!

10. I only lasted a year in piano, she can play concerts without looking at the music (still love the Kolob number!)

11. I can only burn things on a bbq, she can burn anything anywhere!

12. Last of all – She can say I’m the coolest brother, but I know I’m the only one she has!!!!

Allie & I sure love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday! In proper honor of your birthday falling on a Saturday, we got the boat out of storage. Before you get jealous, just know it was so cold, I only put my foot in the water when we saw a seal to prove that you aren’t the only one brave enough to be “in” the water when wildlife thrashes a fish just feet away! The only sun we saw (which happened to BURN us) was when we wiped down the boat on our way home!

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thrilled.

SO happy that Kris won!

AND that he got to sing with Keith Urban.

Love them both!

Oh, and thanks to Shauna (my roommate from BYU)
for putting in at least 1,000 votes for him.

Back East: New York

Last Stop. New York.

We spent a day in New York City. Unfortunately both Jenna and Tyrel had to work, so we ventured in alone. But they helped plan out our day and it was perfect! Here is a little of the fun.

Time Square

Ground Zero, Wall Street, and the Temple

Central Park

Ellis Island

Lee being Cute

Carolyn and Allie

We were so lucky to meet up with my friend/teammate Carolyn from BYU. She is in New York doing fashion school and working. It was so fun to go to dinner with her at a pasta and pizzeria and catch up on life. It had been way too long! I have missed not having my good friends so close to see and run with everyday. It really was a highlight of the city to see her again!!

Thanks Lee for taking me. And thanks to Ann and the Jensen's for letting us stay with you. You are welcome to stay at our place anytime!! (And anyone else who wants to visit!)

And that is about our trip back East. It only took me a month to get it all posted.
Pretty good.

Beach Bums

The heat was high, so what did we do...

head to the beach!

Jake, Tom, Lee, Matt

Lee had a few old roommates come to town, so we all got together and had a Bbq at the beach. It was a perfect day for it! Thanks Jake and Rachel for getting everyone together!

So much fun we stayed until the sunset.
Love Summer.

A First.

29 Weeks.

I had to post this picture because I am actually wearing maternity clothes!! Don't laugh because they are loose. :) This little boy is growing bigger everyday sometimes I just can't believe it.

Back East: New Jersey

Allie (baby Cooper), Lee, Tyrel, Jenna (baby Jensen)

Next stop: New Jersey.

I was also very excited about this trip out East because I was going to see one of my very best friends Jenna and her husband Tyrel! When I called Jenna up to talk with her about coming out and visiting I gave her the news that we were expecting. To my surprise she ALSO told me that they were expecting! This was the best news ever! Come to find out our baby boys are going to be one month apart. (Now if only we weren't a country apart that would be even better!)

We stayed at this AMAZING house that they are taking care of. (And yes, Lee and I did play on the jungle gym in the back yard.) We couldn't have been better taken care of. We had so much fun exploring the area, eating yummy foods, running at an amazing park, playing XBox, visitng Tyrel's family, talking babies, and having treats.

Some of the fun...

The Beach.
I was amazed at how close they live to the beach (about 20 minutes).
I am little jealous. And we live in California!
Unlucky for us it was a windy day, or we might have had to go for a swim.

Sandy Hook Lighthouse.
Oldest working lighthouse in the US!

Navesink (Twin) Lighthouses.
The first US lighthouse to use Fresnel Lens. Also, note that they are "twins" but are different looking. They have the appearance of chess pieces (king/queen).

Monmouth Battlefield

Treat time.
Eating Itain ice. Yum.
Jersey Freeze. Picture a dipped cone COVERED with sprinkles.
I have never had so much "wax" in my mouth at one time!
Pizza by the sice. Yummy.

And some of this...

It was so much fun to see them again! I can't tell you how much I have missed not running everyday with Jenna, being roommates with our bunk beds, and taking turns in class on who gets to take a nap and who takes notes.

Thanks again for letting us come and stay. We can't wait to meet little baby Jensen!

Back East: Washington DC

Second stop: Washington DC
We spent three fun filled days in DC.

We started off at the Monuments and Memorials.

The next day we hit the Capital for a tour.

Look at who we found...
(Every state gets to choose two statues-I was joking when I said I bet Utah did Brigham Young. And low and behold they did! We didn't find the other one for Utah, so your guess is as good as mine.)

Standing on the center of DC.

Some fun at the museums: Air and Space, Natural History, and American History.

Cool. The original American Flag that was waved at Fort McHenry.

Last day: Holocaust Museum, White House, and Ice-cream.

On Holocaust Remembrance day we went to the Holocaust Museum.
(How fitting was that?)
I wouldn't say that this museum was the most "fun" place in the world, but it was very interesting. We spent a good 3 hours there.

And even on vacation we took advantage of "free scoop day at Ben and Jerry's." (Another good reason why you should bring Ann as your tour guide.)

Overall a lot of fun. If you want to see more pictures...we sure have them!
