trunk or treat

It was so fun to go to "trunk or treat" this year. We have gained a lot more friends then last years festivities, which made it a lot more fun to see what people would dress up as. And of course the Sunbeams are the cutest ever!

We had signed up to bring a treat for the activity. We wanted to make something easy, but still have it be Halloween-ish. Sugar cookies sounded like too much work, so this is what we came up with.

Rice-Krispies+ Candy Corn=Yummy Treat

Its a good thing that Lee and I had a taste before we brought them over because when we finally made it to the food table they were gone. Probably a good thing on my part...I didn't really need anymore sugar. (And yes, Ann I had to show that I have the Halloween plates out!)

Colby was beyond cute as a milk carton. Later Lee and I found him standing on the corner out with his bag of candy and costume off. We helped carry it back to his parents. You should have seen him RUNNING to go get the candy with out it on!

And William, Brock and Kaylee were also so cute. I'm not sure why they insisted that they hold onto their hats for the picture...probably something they saw in a book once.

Thanks Brent and Jessica for letting me hold little Colby and for letting us "share" your candy to pass out. I just can't wait for next year to see what Brent didn't have time to dress up as.

Also, the haunted house Lee had worked on was a big success. All the kids were loving it. There were some who were coming out the entrance. They said that was a good sign of a good haunted house. So nice work every one!

June

I know that I am breaking all the rules posting pictures of June without the correct lighting, no accessories on her (bracelets/bows), and "yes, I just woke up hair," but I guess Mandi will have to deal with it...

I think that this child is really the only real reason why I miss my old job at Club Sport. She is just so cute! Love you June!

My littlest brother, John, just made the Jr. High basketball team. We couldn't be more excited for him! Can you tell from this picture why they might want him on the Jr. High team? He just can't stop growing. And he is only 14!

Sunday in Utah

It was so fun to stay over and Brent and Ambers apartment. I can not get over my niece Sammi. She is a talk, talk, talker. I loved it! I didn’t think she would even know who I was and next thing you know it’s, Aunt Allie this, and Uncle Lee that. She is just so smart! She was so cute asking us questions that she already knew the answers, doing puzzles, and playing with her dolls. It was so fun to play and interact with her. But we all can tell who is her favorite…Maren. Any time Sammi left the room and came back she would always come back and saying Maren’s name.

And Elizabeth couldn’t be more precious. Lee was even holding her for long periods of time. It was wonderful. Good job Brent and Amber…another cute kid.

The baby blessing was wonderful and the get together afterwards was great. Thanks for having stay at your house and for all the wonderful memories.

That comes to the end of the trip. I guess we went back to Kaysville for a bit and then headed to the airport. And now we are back to “real” life…counting down the days to the next vacation.

Saturday In Utah

Saturday was just as busy. We went to Grandpa's surprise 80th birthday party. It was so fun to have so many family members there. I really enjoyed seeing grandpa so surprised and emotional about it all. It was such a happy time filled with such happy memories from the kids and grandkids too! We sure had a fun time seeing Grandpa and Grandma. And just love them lots. We can't wait to be able to see and talk with them more when we visit at Christmas.

In the afternoon we headed down to Provo for the BYU game. Katie, Lee’s sister, was awesome and got us free tickets. It was so great to go to a game again. And a very happy birthday to my dad that they won! We were Lucky that it didn't get too cold until the last 3 minutes. And we didn’t see snow until later that night.

That night we went to dinner with Ann Marie and Keros. We had delicious food and great company, what else could you ask for? It is always nice to see them. I did find out that I need to be better prepared with all of the latest new music on a Cd…sorry about that Ann Marie.

Note to Jenna and Tyrel: We sure missed not seeing you guys. It was weird to go to Provo and not visit. Sad. If we only had more time I think we might have visited your parents to make up for it.:)

We then headed over to Brent and Amber’s house for a needed good nights sleep.

Friday in Utah

Two weeks ago--I know sad I'm finally getting to it--we went to Utah. It was a long needed vacation for the two of us. One of the problems about our trips is that we feel like there is more we want to do then there is really time for. This trip was no exception...

It started off with a Big Bang to "Jakes Over the Top." Lee had been wanting to get another Oreo shake from there for about a year and a half...pretty much since we got one the first time. And we finally got it in. (Thanks dad for taking us there right from the airport.) Nothing like a good shake to start off the vacation--right?

The next morning (Friday)we hit the temple bright and early. It was a nice to go with Dad and Mom. Its always nice to go back to the Bountiful Temple. Nothing like home.

After that Lee and I headed back home for a run. When I got back from mine I found Lee MOWING our lawn...can you say he really wants a house!! Oh how I wish I had a picture of it! He was so cute.

Then we spent the rest of the day hanging with Mom. We helped with the house and some other projects we had. We ate delicious BLT's, and of course had the famous (especially in the Cooper house) salsa and chips.

Lee and I went to the doctor and got me long over due orthotics, got our pictures taken, and headed up to Wendy and Gregs. What a full day!!

It's been good...

Two years ago, on the day this picture was taken, I asked this BEAUTY to marry me. It was a bit nerve racking (probably a better story to have Allie share sometime over a bag of chocolate chips) but some how, through my nervousness, I was able to stumble out the question & found an acceptance. To this day, I am grateful for that one day that she said yes (even with the ring on the wrong finger). It has changed my life for the better, actually it has made my life WAY better than I could have ever expected. It's been good...ILYL...

Another Treat to add to the list.

Thanks to Wendy and Greg we had a great night of food, fun, and games. We had a blast visiting them! I sure miss not having my Wendy around. But am glad that she is still close to home, so I can still see her when we make the "quick" trips to Utah.

I'm not sure why Lee and I had never thought of this before, but we are glad that Wendy and Greg showed us what's up...

CARAMEL APPLES! I believe this is Lee's new favorite thing. He has already come up with a list of other "goodness" that he wants to put on his apple.

My favorite one (I was very surprised!) was the caramel+ white chocolate+some sprinkled brown sugar. YUMMY!!

Again, Lee so happy about this new little snack. (Watch out Brent and Jessica-you might might get sucked into making these with us...)

P.S. I think I want a rematch of "And it came to Pass"--no one should loose that bad!

PlayDough Ice-Cream.

The other night at dinner my brother-in-law was talking about this surprisingly amazingly good ice-cream that my niece had picked out at the ice-cream shop. From the descriptions I concluded that it was "play dough" ice-cream. I was surprised they had never had it before!
This brought me back to the great times when it was someones birthday, Ann I believe, when we would by the big gallon of it, because thats all it came in, and enjoy it for days...or however long it lasted. Surprisingly I kind-of feel like having some...

We have lots of rules...

...most of the time, I have a really hard time following the rules. The problems isn't so much an obedience thing on my part, but rather it's the fact that Allie is too wonderful. How can I obey rules like no tickles (ESPECIALLY THE FEET!), no good back rubs, no opening tasty things (chocolate chips, chips, CANDY, etc), no squeezing hard....and stuff like that.

Unfortunately, I have been in this type of mood lately (see below) and have not followed the rules!

This great wife of mine takes way too good care for me! It just is not fair, not in the least bit. She is always looking out for my needs, especially lately with the insanity of work. I don't know how she can put up with a rule breaker like me and maintain a sane life. She is just the best ever! Her smile brightens my day, often times it brightens my day over and over.

She knows just how to make the funny things even funnier! The PT Cruiser has never really been a favorite car of mine. When we were in Seattle this year, we happened to get one and it wasn't one that would really blend in with the other cars on the road. The blue was so intense, it probably distracted most people on the road. Allie made it actually one of the best rental cars we have ever had! She just has that magic touch that makes things great! We still keep our eye out for the PT Cruisers on the road. They bring us back to a great memory!

Allie also has one of the greatest gifts with children. This is our little Sammer-Jammer neice, whom we never get to visit. She is the most adorable little big-sister now. We can't wait to see our newest little niece. I am certain they are going love Allie immediately and probably cry whenever I try to play with them. She does so well at teaching the 'beamers at church, comforting tiny Colby, and every possible child inbetween! She is going to be an incredible mother, but until that day, she continues to amaze me with her ability to connect with kids.

So, if you see posts like the one she did a few days ago, talking about how I might be a decent guy, she is probably stretching the truth just a bit. She is the one worth mentioning. She makes me the one I am. She is my special lady & I love being with her ever possible second!

As a matter of fact, I was trying to get this post completed before she came in, but to no avail. She caught me in the act and patiently waited for me to finish. I am guessing that in a few seconds she will begin to search for the remaining chocolate chips I saved for her. It's funny how now when making a treat, I just want to save as many chocolate chips for her to snack on while frozen... another rule I just can't keep. But to get another one of her smiles....it's worth it!
