20. Who asked who out first? Lee asked me over for a movie night at his house. I thought it was a date, but it turned out awkward all around. But then he asked me out for reals and things just worked out. Strange that his parents happened to be in town the next weekend to take us to dinner. (I didn’t know if I liked the kid!)
21. Who kissed who first? I did.
22. Who proposed? Lee did. He was so nervous…you should have heard the speech. I don’t think he could tell you anything he really said. But it was cute and I loved it.
23. His best features? What’s there not to like? But I really do love his hair, bum, and squinty eyes.
24. What is his greatest quality? How much he just loves me and is so good to me.

Out on the Boat

I am totally kicking myself for not getting pictures of today's boat trip. It was so fun and crazy. The weather was suppose to be awesome for the weekend, but when we got up this morning for our run/ride no sun came up (which is extremely odd considering for the last few weeks when I leave at 6:30 am the sun is high in the sky and kicking out heat). When we got out to the Delta, no one even wanted to touch the water, let alone put on a ski. Finally, Father Cooper stepped up, put on his trusty Connelly and hit the glass with perfection! It was fun to watch, great skiing dad!

My personal favorite part about the day was when I was strapping on the wakeboard, Allie was called upon to drive the boat. She has never driven for a skier and it has probably been more than a year since she last drove the boat. It was AWESOME! She totally drove with precision and did a great job! I would gladly have her drive for me any time I ever board again! Great job cutie! The other great part was that when I was done, she jumped in with me and gave a great run on the kneeboards! She has nailed the 360s. Believe it or not, I was the one who wrecked doing 360s and ended the fun!

It was a great time on the boat. Great work Al, thanks M&D, and can't wait to go again!

you gotta love weekends

this past weekend was one of those good weekends. nothing too out of the ordinary happened, but it was just a good weekend. here are some of the highlights.

1. friday night dinner night
2. moved our bookshelf to the garage to make room for entertainment center
3. saturday morning bike ride/run and waffles (with bananas and strawberries)
4. boating all day in 100 degree weather
5. running to ward party to help set up and drop off ice and food
6. attending saturday night stake conference
7. having all the boys in our ward away at scout camp so lee could help teach sunbeams!
8. dinner at the coopers (which always includes yummy dessert-thanks jess)
9. the dick van dike show
10. mint moose tracks ice-cream
+ just being with lee for an entire two and a little bit of a day (my very favorite part of weekends)

Happy Birthday Grandpa

My Grandpa Acheson (my mom’s dad) turned 80 this year and the entire Acheson crew headed up to Shelton WA to wish him a Happy Birthday.

Lee had never been to Seattle before, so we thought that it would be fun to do a little exploring while we were making the trip there. We had a lot of fun touring the city. We went to the Locks first and then enjoyed some fish and chips and clam chowder there at the local “shack.” (Lee and I decided that we need to head into SF one of these days to have some chowder…it’s just so good!) Oh, I forgot to mention what we were cruising the streets in. Well, not what we thought we were getting, but it didn’t end up being that bad…just the brightest blue of a PT cruiser that you could get! We just loved how even the inside was the same color so you didn’t forget what color you were driving in! (I’m sure some of you would have died seeing Lee drive the car.)

That night we also were lucky enough to get a tour of the Mariners Stadium. My Aunt Liz fiancé’s nephew is the head chef for the team, so he took us around. It was really fun to go behind the scene. The stadium is really cool and can open up and close depending on if there is rain or sun. Speaking of rain…it only rain on us one day! The day we walked around Seattle. Our hotel was at the perfect spot. We walked to everything. We first did the underground tour of Seattle. It is a really fun tour that teaches you the history of Seattle and takes you to the “old part” underground. Then we went to Pike Street market and had fun watching the guys throw fish and sampling yumminess! We walked along the shopping center of the city and then quickly made our way to the Space Needle.

That night we got together with all of my mom’s family. I think only three of my cousins were missing. All together there was a total of 56 people in my Aunt and Uncles house. It was crazy to have everyone together and see all the new babies in the family.

My grandpa is so great. He had no idea what was going on the whole time. Everything was such a surprise for him. We ended up giving him tiles, where everyone painted a piece, to be included in his amazing garden. He was so shocked and couldn’t stop talking about how great they were. We also got him a digital photo frame that he just loved! I don’t think he stopped smiling the entire time we were there. It was so fun to see him so happy.

We had so much fun staying at my grandpa’s house…that Lee was like a little kid when it was time to leave and just didn’t want to go. My grandpa lives on a beach house that he had just done so much wonderful work on it and the land around it that you are in heaven the whole time. We collected a bunch of sea shells that we just had to bring home. We played Dominos (Mexican train game) which is always a must when you visit, got a tour of the place, and had wonderful company.

It was so nice to see my entire immediate family there. Will, my brother, just got back from his mission a week before hand, so it was nice to be able to see him there! He was just a great missionary and is such a great brother. It was good to see him back in his “home made” shirts…its like he never left. And it was also really nice to see Ann before she headed off to Thailand for the summer. Everyone else seemed like things were going well. It was a very fun trip. Thanks grandpa for having a birthday!!

Sisters together again

My sister, Caitlyn, came to visit us for a few days at the beginning of June. She graduated from “dear old Davis High,” did the all night party, and then caught a plane out to California the next day. We didn’t want to give her any rest, so as soon as she jumped off the plane we headed into the city. I had really wanted to scooter across the Golden Gate Bridge and thought this would be a great time to do it. This sounded like a perfect idea until we got up to the sign that had a picture of a “motorized” scooter, and best thought we should just walk. But I was really proud of us because we walked the entire bridge with the scooters in hand. I had only walked part of it, so I was excited that we did it all!! Then we did a little driving around and found Lombard street. I joined the million other people taking pictures…I had to laugh because I live here!

Sunday Cait helped with the Sunbeamers. It was a sad day for the class because Lee got a new calling in the Young Men’s, so they no longer have someone picking them up and down during singing time. And when we were going over who was missing for the day they all wanted to know where Brother Cooper was. I’m sure we will have to have a visitor every once in a while to bring back some of the fun!

Monday Cait and I headed to the beach. I have only gone to the beach once with Lee, so I was proud that I made it and we had ample time to hang out there. It was really nice weather. We got some sun, but the water was COLD!! Cait had her feet in it longer then I did.

Tuesday was an adventure. I decided to take Cait to a hiking place that I had never been. The place is called Sunol Canyon. We got a little lost trying to find the hiking trail that we wanted to do, so we just went on some Canyon View hike. It was nice, again, perfect weather. We just were just a little sad when the biggest waterfalls we saw were just little drips.

That night all three of us went to an A’s game. Lee’s company got some tickets for us. We jumped on BART (which had to stop for a while because an earthquake happened when we were riding on the train) and made it for the 5^th and 6^th innings. (In case you were wondering, baseball is not our favorite sport, but it is fun to watch some). We met up with friends from the area, and enjoyed some company.

Wednesday Cait and I headed into the city. I drove! I couldn’t believe it! I have only driven there once, on accident, and got so lost Lee had to come and save me. I messed up a little but I was glad that I only got honked at once. (I just get so scared driving there! No one is nice.) We walked along the pier. We had fun watching the crazy Sea Lions, visiting Alcatraz, and walking around the little shops. Later that afternoon Lee met up with us for some Ghirardelli chocolate. Yum.

Thursday morning we all headed off to Seattle for the birthday bash with grandpa!!

Forest Cabin

For Memorial Day Weekend Lee and I wanted to get away. We decided to take some of our friends, the Crocketts and Wrights, along with us. We thought that it would be fun to head up to the family cabin and do some hiking. Well, it was a little different then planned because of the wet weather. Lucky for us we have friends who are up for anything.

We ended up going to the Moaning Cavern, a cave by the cabin. It was fun to go down the skinny steps trying not to hit your head. (I think that Taylor won on the most head bonks.)

Lee also enjoyed taking our Sunbeamer William out for a walk around the “forest cabin” (as he liked to call it). Lee just kept getting told over and over how much William loved him and how much he loved being at the cabin. I think that he really just liked hitting the deer poop with the "William stick" the most. I think that it was a success for the three year old. Oh, and the fact that at church there was a real policeman who showed William his badge. I think William about died when he saw that policemen really do have a family.

Baby June was a cute as ever. We couldn’t get enough opportunities to hold her. She is just an angel.

Thanks Ben, Mandi, William, June, Taylor, and Lisa for coming with us! We had a lot of fun. And we owe you some money.

Oakland Temple

The Oakland Temple is our temple out here in the Bay Area. I have been to the temple many times since we moved here, but never got my picture at it, so I was really excited when Jake (Lee's old roommate) and Rachel (family friend of Lee's) got married there! We had a wonderful time at the wedding. We had lots of people stay at our apartment. It was funny to see four people crammed into our front room/dinning area sleeping, while Lee and I enjoyed our comfy bedroom. All of them were good sports about it all and we enjoyed seeing old roommates and friends.

We are really excited for Jake and Rachel and we are even more excited that the wedding is over with, that way they can hang out and be our friends more! Congrats!
