The Travel System.

I'm glad we finally got them out of their boxes. This was one of our frist purchases for this little one (that was months ago--no last minute on this one!). We love them.

To our surprise we really liked the Orange (or REI Red) and Gray. (And, yes, we are aware that when we have a little girl she will need to be in pink and have a bow.)

Baby Bassinet

I just received a call from my mom wondering what color our car seat is. I'm sure that most of you don't really care about our car seat, but I thought for those that are wondering what some our baby things are like, I thought I would do a few posts in the next few days to show what we have.

I have to admit, the car seat is still in the box, along with the stroller. So, I think you get to see those tomorrow, after I get them out and all put together.

So, today you get to see the lovely bassinet. We found this beaut at a garage sale.

Some features of our bassinet:
It came in really good shape and was already super clean. When the lady was selling it to us, she was telling us about how OCD she was with it! That was happiness. (I of course cleaned it again, also having a little OCD too.)
It has a light thing that can go at the front of it (kind of a night light thing). I don't know if I will really use it, but it's cool. I need to get batteries for it to see how it really works.
It has three colors of sheets-white, blue, and yellow.
There is a basket on the bottom.
It can rock.
It has wheels that can pop out and you can move it around, or you can lock them so it doesn't rock.
I'm sure the pictures can tell the rest.

waiting

Lee and I found a crib and dresser that we liked forever ago. It just took us forever to decide that we were really going to get it. Who knew that it would take over 12 weeks?! Ha.

So, our crib and dresser are on order at the moment. I wish I had a nursery all set up to show you a picture of everything, but it wont be for at least another month. Sad I know!

But I thought I would give you a preview of what we got. Both are in white (I could not find a picture of the crib in white). Most of our furniture in our living area is dark, so we wanted to brighten up the baby's room.

We are excited for it to show up. Sometimes we need to be better at not being "last minute" people. Hence the hospital bag I should probably pack tonight!

Passey Family Unites

Hey guys, I know the Holidays are months away, but in our dinner time conversations lately, we have been trying to guess when everyone/anyone will be going back HOME! I keep telling Allie that I just seriously need some Cherry-Hill watersliding, but she responds with the winter is too cold and the slides are only open in the summer. SO. How about a response letting us know if you will be HOME for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Both, and maybe how long. We would like to time things when we can catch THE MOST of you there. Who doesn't love a packed house with a 3 month old crying? Maren, John, Mom & Dad (& maybe Cait) you can still reply with your preferences!

24th of July

Today was my last day of work.
That probably means that the baby is coming soon!
Crazy.
Lots more to do.
Lots more sleep I need to get.
Enjoy it while I can, huh?

One week.

Kenny visits San Fran

After going to his first country concert, Lee was more then willing to try another. Lucky me!

We purchased the tickets at the end of March. I had been a little worried for months that we were going to have to give them away because I had this envision of me being HUGE and unable to even walk up the stairs to our seats (which I knew were up, Up, UP, there!). Again, along with the DC trip, I had to laugh. Because even with this baby due in two weeks I have been able to do pretty much anything I want with out much discomfort. I have been gratefully blessed in that I have had NO back pain, NO swelling, I sleep great (just a few bathroom trips), and NOTHING stopping me from going in public to a country concert!!

Anyways, so we decided to drag our friends Brent and Jessica with us. Before hand we went to dinner at Buca Di Beppo. A special thanks to Jessica reminding our spacey waitress that we were celebrating “Lee Cooper’s” birthday, we were able to embarrass him with a candlelight rendition of happy birthday. We were all pleasantly surprised at the yummy confetti cupcake that we all helped him devour (even after having been so full)!

Then it was off to the concert. We were totally bummed to find out that SugarLand was not going to be performing that night because the lead singer had lost her voice. But Kenny did not disappoint. (Ann, no worries—“She thinks my trackers sexy" was song just for you! Dad would be pleased.)

We had a lot of fun! The weather was perfect and the company was great. We were just glad that the drunk guy did not fall on top of us, and that it was just the group of girls next to us. We would have not been too happy about that, but they got over it fast--luckily. I guess there is nothing like having a good time drinking water from the water bottle you brought!

Overall amazing show!

"son" flowers

Lee brought me home some "son"flowers before our doctors appointment last Friday.
So cute.
I just love him.

one month

Late again. I would not be surprised if this baby comes a week late because I seem to always we a week behind at posting pictures of me on the blog.

This is me at 36 weeks.

Tomorrow is 37 weeks.
We better start shopping!

race.

It was a big debate 5K? 10K?

5K won

Lee entered the local 4th of July 5K this year. After watching me run the 10K last year I told him he should run next year. Little did we know that I would be unable to run in it with him this year.
Lee was willing to try the 10K, but I wanted him to like me after running the race, so we signed him up for the 5.

Probably a good thing we did because wake boarding the day before made him just a tad bit sore.

Lee did really well. We just need to have him not start behind all the walkers. It took him forever to get past them all. I told him he needs to be more aggressive. Push if he has to. But he is too nice. I'm sure he was saying excuse me as he was trying to get around.

And yes, he was still happy after the race.
And yes, we did have to have the firecracker popsciles.
And yes, he might just do another.

other 4th events

Lee and I went straight from the race to the Danville Parade. I have never seen so many boy scouts and cub scouts in a parade before.
I sure missed not having the salt water taffy to snack on during the parade.
But I was excited that Safeway gave out waters and fruit snacks!
Sadly after about 2 1/2 hours of the parade, (they sure know how to space out the parade by about a block between groups) Lee and I decided to head out early.

We ended up going to the store on our way home to pick up some flowers for our flower pot.
Lee ended planting these all by himself for us.

I love them.

Then it was off the Jacob's birthday party. We had a fun time with friends.

OH SO GOOD! Best ever.

Move=Success!

I always find it a must to wipe down a place when you move into it. We just moved into our new apartment and everything looks all nice and clean until you start wiping down. For instance, the kitchen, we went through an entire thing of disinfectant wipes before I would even think about putting something in those cupboards! And the fridge needed everything cleaned again for me to feel good about eating food from in there.

Don’t get me wrong-our place looked GREAT. In fact we had just gotten new carpet, tile, and paint, so we were more then happy. But I just have this thing about knowing that it really was cleaned!!

This was definitely the easiest move that we have done so far. We were moving literally three speed bumps down the complex. This required no packing on our part. It was fill up the Tupperware containers and drop them off, fill up, drop off, etc.

Thursday night we did the entire kitchen. We cleaned out the new (noted above) and moved everything over and set up the place.

On Friday with the help of a wonderful mother-in-law and sister (Kenzie), Lee and I were able to get almost everything over there on Friday night. We even brought over the bed and set that up that night (not in the plans, but somehow we were moving fast)! And slept on clean sheets that night! It was great. Our bathroom was put together and our closet had clothes hanging. All we needed to move from the old place was the couches, entertainment center, dresser, and top of the table. We even had time that night to hit the local yogurt shop. We were very surprised we were able to do all this with just the four of us. I was of little help on the moving part because I can’t lift anything heavy. I had to just take things one at a time, but we managed.

Saturday we woke up. Moved the entire garage and finished cleaning the old place. Friends showed up just as we were done cleaning to move the big things, and we were done! Then it was pizza and swimming perfect for a 100 degree day! (We were sure glad we moved everything the day before!)

The place still has some organizing that needs to happen, but hopefully we can get some pictures up soon!

I do have to put in a special THANKS to Mom and Kenzie for doing SO much of the cleaning and moving! The management was so impressed with how nice we left our old apartment that they didn’t charge us for cleaning the carpets! We got 100% of our deposit back!! They kept telling us that they always take out for carpet cleaning! But when I talked with the guy he said that it was one of the cleanest apartments he has ever seen.

Guess it pays to clean!
