what summer is about.

Camping, Cabin, and Boat, are new favorite words for Zachary.
Whenever we talk about where we want to go for the day
he usually will say, "cabin."
And if we are playing with the pretend phones...
we usually end up calling Grandma and he will say, "cabin, boat, yes."
or "hi grandma, boat, yes."

We went up to the cabin and lake the other week.
Here is a few pictures from the weekend.

road trip.

We have done the drive down to So Cal (6-7 hours) a few
times with Zac, but this was the longest we would
have ever been in the car.

I didn't know which was going to be worse.
Me being uncomfortable?
Or dealing with Zac strapped in a car seat.

Again, surprisingly everything was fine.
I didn't get sore. Happy.
And actually volunteered to drive a lot.
And Zac was better in the car then he has been on a plane.
(I think the fact that he sleeps in his carseat...and not on a plane
makes a big difference.)
Zac also is really into "big trucks" so there was lots to see.

I'm not saying that I would rather drive then fly...
but we all lived through it all.
And were happy to arrive at each destination in one piece.

Gotta love the view.
Zac worn out from camping.
We got two good naps out of him on the way home.Zachary was really pretty good.
We didnt' have to pull some of our "emergency things"
until more then half way home from Idaho.
(That means we made it 13 hours Cal-Utah, 6 hours Utah-Idaho
and got in another 6 hours Idaho-Cali without pulling of some of
the goods.)

Thomas is a favorite right now.
If you couldn't tell. :)

camping!

Our latest purchase...

Just kidding! It's my Aunt and Uncles.
We just had to get a picture in front of their awesome trailer.
They had the happening place at the reunion.
They hung a sheet up and had a projector going
with movies.
They even supplied popcorn and snacks.
And who doesn't love a flamingo while camping?
True wildlife.

We made it to the reunion just as the heat was at its peak.
Setting up our tent (sadly no pictures!) Lee was
thinking we were going to die while sleeping.
But as the night came-the heat died down.
We actually were glad we brought jackets with us.
(We wont name those that didn't.)

Surprisingly we slept pretty good.
Being pregnant I was not sure how I would do on
an air mattress, but I did well.
Other then the fact I didn't want to leave the
tent in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.

But Zac slept really good.
We are lucky that he does really well in
a pack-in-play. There is no way I could sleep
with that kid. He doesn't even stop moving in his sleep!

We were up bright and early.
6:00.
On a walk.

Every broken tree was pointed out.
There were lots.

Other fun from the day...

Zac was loving John throwing him
high into the air. He kept saying "again. again."
Loving the chair his size.

Playing with Emmery
Sammi and Cait crafting it up.
(I had to make a few bracelets myself!)
Fun at the Lake...
Lee and Andrew talking about something important. :)
Enjoying some oreos.
Cousin Race on his raft.

Sisters. Love them.

Cait still working on the popsicle concoction.
The only on left...
but still smiling.
Candid group shot.

I missed pictures of so many people.
I'm sure most are thankful they don't have pictures
of them camping.
But we had a really fun time.
And enjoyed being with so much family.

cousins

On July 6th we headed up near Bosie for
a family reunion.
We were lucky enough to meet up with
Lee's older sister and brother-in-law for lunch
and to spend some time at their house.
We don't make it out to Bosie very often, if ever,
(this was both our first time actually stopping in
there!) so it was perfect that we were in the area.

We had not seen them for over two years, so
it was fun to see how big Kya is getting.
And to meet Evelyn, who was born just a few
days after Zac!

Zac, Kya, and Evie

It was fun to get together with them
and watch Kya with a little sister.
She is the nicest big sister ever.

I love Evie's hand on Zac's head at the beginning.
And I love Zac copying Evie with hiding his eyes.

Thanks Jessica and Hal for taking
the time out of your day to see us!
Kya and Evie are as cute as ever!
We sure love cousins.

Temple Square

While in Utah we were able to meet up
with some friends.
We always wish there was more time to be
with family and see more people...
If only vacations could be a little longer.

We had not been to Temple Square for a few years,
so I asked Ann Marie (and Lily) if they
wanted to meet up for a picnic lunch there.

Zac loving Lily.
She is such a doll.

Zac was pretty excited about holding her.

This kid seriously loves babies.
A very good thing because there is soon to be on
in a month!!

After our picnic we walked a little of the construction going on
with the new downtown shopping.
This was a cool fountain that they put in.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture with Ann Marie.
I guess kids take over the camera.

And sadly I didn't get any other pictures with friends
that we got with. :(
Thanks Wendy and Greg and Lisa for
the visits. We always like seeing you!

Our Fourth

We took a trip to Utah over the Fourth.
And had a great time with family.
The morning started off with the
neighborhood kids parade.
Zac mostly just sat there and watched the
4-wheelers that rode behind us.
But he did enjoy the popsicle at the end.

Then we meet up with my Grandma, Aunt Sara,
and adorable cousins Ellie and Olivia for the Kaysville parade.

Zac pointing at everything moving.

The weather was so nice.
It did sprinkle a little, but it felt good.

Enjoying some taffy with my little brother John
who Zac loves.
He can't stop saying "John" and pointing to his picture.

I love this video because Zac just steps
back while all the kids race for the candy.

Waving to the firetruck.

That night we had a BBQ with some cousins.

My cute matching family!
Lee and Zac added in some white.
While I was the lonely blue.
We left sleeping Zac at home with Grandma and Caitlyn,
while my dad, Lee, and I headed over to the Kaysville fireworks.

Overall a good fourth.
Always fun to be home with family
for the holidays.

County Fair

On June 29th we went to the Alameda County Fair.
We went for a few hours after Lee's work.
We hit up all the free things.
We love cheap entertainment. :)

Petting the sheep.

Zac still will talk about the "jackets"
that some of the sheep were
wearing to keep them warm.
He was laughing at them so hard.
I wish we would have gotten a video or picture.
It was pretty cute.

Playing at the kids section...

We went through the model train exhibit once,
and Zac made us turn around and go back in.
I think we spent more then half our time at the fair
watching trains.

We had to bribe him with some of the candy
that we brought to leave.
He was seriously loving it!
