Back East Trip: NJ with the Jensens

The next stop was to New Jersey to visit the Jensens!

The kids were awesome for the 5 hour drive. We were a little bummed as we drove through Ithaca that Will and Sara were not all ready living there. It would have been fun to visit them and check out Cornell University (seeing how we probably would not make it out to that area for a long time). We did have to give them a phone call to say hi anyways. :)

Jenna was an awesome host and had dinner for us when we arrived!! It was so nice to visit such great friends. We enjoyed so much of Jenna's energy and non-stop fun. I loved getting some runs in for the days we were there (so fun to run with someone!!). We especially loved seeing our kids be together (definitely a highlight of our trip!). It has been so fun having kids the exact same age! They were super cute. I also loved seeing their new house in person!

One of the days we were there was Sunday. Church was easy seeing how Jane only wanted to sit on Jenna's lap for the second and third hour. Thanks Jenna! :) After naps we took a walk around a park nearby. The boys were super cute running ahead holding hands. All the kids enjoyed throwing rocks. Again, super fun seeing our kids together.

Monday we thought it would be fun to head to the Jersey shore. Tyrel and Jenna had gone to help in some areas after Hurricane Sandy, but had not been back since. We were not sure what it was really going to look like, but the beach is so close we just had to go. They were still doing construction on the board walk and the beach was pretty rough looking, so we just played for a little and walked out on some rocks. Probably perfect for the kids, seeing how Bennett really just wanted to get in the water the whole time (and it was a little cool out).

We ended up at a nearby park for lunch. I have a feeling that if we lived near each other (not across the entire country!) we would be doing this a lot together.

Looks like it was fun, especially since the kids really enjoyed each other.
